DNSSEC Check: Is DNSSEC Active?

With EXPERTE.com's DNSSEC Check, you can easily and quickly determine whether DNSSEC is activated for a DNS zone. Simply input the domain you want to evaluate in the uppermost field.

DNSSEC - Overview

A domain name system (DNS) is mainly used to translate domain names into IP addresses (for example, EXPERTE.com into 172.66.41.9). With DNS spoofing, the requesting client receives an inaccurate IP address for a particular domain, forwarding the user to a different, often illicit website, than the one they thought they were heading to. In this manner, sensitive information such as passwords or credit card details can fall into the wrong hands.

This is where DNSSEC comes in: It ensures that received DNS data is identical to the original requested by way of checking its digital signatures.
